6.0 Assistance from Outside Organizations

 

Please Note: Any documents not available at this Website are located in the NEST file cabinet at the La Honda firehouse.

  1. Red Cross (disaster volunteers, family service, mass care, damage assessment, nursing). Explain the situation to the Red Cross representative (or DAT Coordinator) and tell them that the Incident Commander has requested Red Cross assistance.
  2. Salvation Army (food, family assistance and other social services).
  3. OES (food, water, sanitary facilities, sand, sandbags etc.).
  4. CREST (trained, local disaster service workers). Call the list of CREST members (Attachment A of the CREST Communications Operating Procedures located in the Networking Outside La Honda file folder).
  5. Sheriff (search & rescue, law enforcement etc.).
  6. Humane Society (animal issues).
  7. Volunteer Center of SM County (to obtain or offer volunteers).
  8. Additional humanitarian organizations check the Relief Agency List from NEST Resources folder in file cabinet
